Supporting Patient Care: How Our Administrative Teams Ensure Quality Experiences for Every Patient
Every day, Desert Radiology commits to serving patients with prompt quality healthcare. Since April 26 is Administrative Professionals’ Day, we are taking an opportunity to honor and thank the administrative team members in our Patient Care Center and Front Office, who help keep our imaging centers running every day.
The role of the teammates within Desert Radiology’s Patient Care Center supports the day-to-day operations of our facilities. Their job is crucial to the overall experience we provide to patients. Our PCC teammates are responsible for providing pre-imaging services, including appointment scheduling, insurance eligibility and exam pre-authorization. Every day, this team handles nearly 3,000 inbound calls from patients and healthcare providers. These calls range from initial scheduling inquires to research and/or troubleshooting exam concerns. Their position is accountable for safeguarding that exams are ordered accurately and in accordance to our practice’s over 1,000 exam policies.
Likewise, the administrative teammates within our Front Office are fundamental to total patient experience. Our front office team is the first face-to-face contact between Desert Radiology and its patients. Including greeting patients to our imaging centers, this team is responsible for facilitating the entire patient check-in process. Their job duties include verifying orders at time of service, confirming insurance, giving guidance on exam preparations, handling exam reschedules and assisting patients with obtaining medical records. These teammates are essential in maintaining patient flow and helping to keep appointments on-time. Daily, they complete check-in for over 2000 patients practice-wide.
Jaime DeVries, Director of Scheduling and Front Office of Desert Radiology, says the root of our practice’s success starts with these two teams. “When a patient and their family call or walk through the door, our knowledgeable and professional teams are their first point of contact,” said DeVries. “Our staff assists patients with any questions they have and works to accommodate patient’s individual needs. They collaborate with our clinical teams daily to ensure every patient receives the highest quality care, and that isn’t something that we ever overlook.”
The incredible work our Patient Care Center and Front Office teams perform every day is what allows each imaging center to stand as a pillar in the Southern Nevada community. These teammates are the superstars behind our clinical teams – and together make our practice thrive. We appreciate everything they do for our patients each day.
