Dr. Horwich completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell College. He received his Medical Degree from Rush University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. In 1998, Dr. Horwich completed a general surgery internship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2003. Dr. Horwich continued his medical career at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, completing a MRI fellowship in 2004. Additionally, Dr. Horwich completed two visiting fellowships, funded by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. In 2004, he completed a musculoskeletal imaging fellowship, with Dr. Donald L. Resnick at the University of California, San Diego followed by musculoskeletal and intervention fellowship with Dr. William E. Palmer, at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Following fellowship, Dr. Horwich served five years as full time faculty in the Musculoskeletal Section at Beth Israel – Deaconess and as an Instructor in Radiology at the Harvard Medical School. His duties included organizing the MSK residency curriculum and acting as an official imager for the Boston Red Sox. Dr. Horwich then joined Guthrie Health where he was the Lead Physician for Musculoskeletal Imaging and Lead Physician for MRI. He has presented and published in the areas of MRI and Musculoskeletal Imaging and serves as a manuscript reviewer for The Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Skeletal Radiology.
Dr. Horwich joinined Desert Radiology in 2016. He has a professional background in software development as well where his ongoing interests in imaging informatics include MRI protocol management and computer vision. Dr. Horwich is an active community volunteer and has given his time to many organizations such as Big Brother Big Sister, Young Adult Task Force and Vilna Shul.
