Dr. Urman graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 1982, he received his Doctor of Philosophy Degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Urman continued his medical career at Oregon Health Sciences University, obtaining his Medical Degree in 1985, followed by completion of his diagnostic radiology residency in 1990. During his medical training, Dr. Urman was the recipient of several academic awards and scholarships, including the Alpha Kappa Kappa and State School Commission scholarships.
Dr. Urman has over 20 years’ experience in diagnostic radiology. Prior to joining Desert Radiology, he was the Medical Director for Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center in Gresham, Oregon. Dr. Urman was active in medical leadership in the Legacy system and served as the President of the medical staff at Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center from 2015 – 2016. He also held several teaching positions at the Oregon Health Sciences University, School Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Urman has instructed classes in Head and Neck Anatomy, Human Gross Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Clinical Neuroimaging.
Dr. Urman has held positions in several medical committees and previously served as President for both the Oregon Radiological and Pacific Northwest Radiology societies. He has participated in numerous in clinical research studies, contributed to many scholarly publications and scientific exhibits. He has also presented at several national radiological annual meetings.
Dr. Urman joined Desert Radiology in 2020, as a teleradiologist.
