Dr. Stanley Whitaker received his bachelor’s degree in physics and pre-medical science at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, in 1980. He earned his doctorate from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, in 1984. Dr. Whitaker attended diagnostic radiology residency at Northwestern University Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois, from 1985 to 1989. He completed a rotating internship at Illinois Masonic Hospital from 1984 to 1985. He held the roles of medical staff president, medical staff vice president, and chief of ancillary service at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire, from 1993 to 2001. Starting in 2013, he was an instructor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine.
Dr. Whitaker has almost 30 years of multimodality and light interventional experience in general radiology, including 20 years of experience in diagnostic teleradiology. Prior to joining Desert Radiology, he was a diagnostic radiologist in outreach imaging at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center & Outreach Affiliates in Lebanon, New Hampshire. From 2004 to 2013, Dr. Whitaker was medical director of imaging services at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, New Hampshire. From 2003 to 2008, he held the role of medical director at Sound Medical Imaging, Inc. in Conway, New Hampshire. He was director of radiology and imaging at Grand View Health System from 2002 to 2004 in Ironwood, Michigan. Dr. Whitaker was director of radiology and imaging at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire, from 1992 to 2001. At Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, he served as a radiologist from 1989 to 1991.
Dr. Whitaker joined Desert Radiology in 2018 as a teleradiologist.
