Dr. Cheng graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. In 2005, he received his Medical Degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in Cayman Islands.

Dr. Cheng continued his medical career at Baylor College of Medicine, completing a postgraduate general surgery residency in 2006.  Subsequently in 2010, he concluded a residency in family medicine at the University of North Dakota, where he also served as Chief Resident.  In 2017, Dr. Cheng finished his diagnostic radiology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Consortium.

Dr. Cheng is a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.  Succeeding his enlistment in 2008, he served as a Staff Physician at Carrington Health Center, Altru Health System Urgent Care and Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in North Dakota.  From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Cheng was assigned as a Staff Physician and Medical Director at Yokota Air Base Urgent Care in Japan.    Currently, Dr. Cheng is assigned as Staff Physician and Staff Radiologist at Correct Care Solutions Juvenile Detention Center, Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital and the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center at Nellis Airforce Base.

Throughout his medical and military career, Dr. Cheng has concluded several residency lectures, contributed to various scholarly publications and participated in clinical research studies.


Dr. Cheng joined Desert Radiology in 2019, as a teleradiologist.
