LAS VEGAS (August 10, 2018) – Desert Radiology, a premier diagnostic imaging company that has served Southern Nevada for over 50 years, continues its mission to give back and help local communities. The imaging company donated nearly 300 backpacks and school supplies to students who attended the organization’s annual “Operation Backpack” event, hosted at City Impact Center.  

“Helping students across the Las Vegas Valley get back-to-school ready is a core component of our ongoing philanthropic initiatives,” said Chief Executive Officer Richard Bodager. “This year we increased our efforts and donated 100 more backpacks filled with school supplies to low-income students at City Impact Center.”

The imaging company has a continuing partnership with City Impact Center, a community outreach center that provides services to low-income individuals. More than 70 Desert Radiology staff members volunteered their time to welcome over 250 children to the “Operation Backpack” event. The students filled new backpacks in a mock store setting at Innovations Charter School within the City Impact Center campus and enjoyed breakfast sponsored by Desert Springs Hospital. This is Desert Radiology’s second year supporting the backpack drive. 

Desert Radiology also donated 100 backpacks to Desert View Hospital for its Back-to-School Fair on July 21 in Pahrump, Nevada. The event offered complimentary sports physicals, vision and dental screenings, backpacks and school supplies, to students in Southern Nevada. 

Desert Radiology has been a key community partner in supporting Southern Nevada organizations, including City Impact Center. The imaging company assists with City Impact Center’s Urban Garden and donates frozen turkeys for holiday meals every year, among other community initiatives. Desert Radiology also works with Las Vegas Diaper Bank, Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. 

Desert Radiology has been the area’s chief resource for diagnostic imaging services since 1966. The diagnostic imaging company currently serves over 30,000 patients monthly across its outpatient facilities. Desert Radiology will open its ninth imaging facility on August 13 making it the largest radiology provider in Southern Nevada.
